Here is some information that I hope you will find helpful, including some updates on the state’s efforts to address COVID-19 as well as other news from your state government. Gov. Whitmer Recommends Two Week Pause For the next two weeks, Gov. Whitmer is asking high schools to voluntarily pause in-person learning after their spring break, in addition to suspending youth sports and encouraging residents to avoid indoor dining. This is due to the recent spike in Michigan’s COVID-19 numbers. These are recommendations, not orders or mandates. Ingham County Schools Return to Week of Remote Learning With the recent increase in COVID-19 cases, the Ingham County Health Department has recommended that schools suspend in-person classes during the week that students return from spring break. Every school district in Ingham County will move middle and high school students to remote learning this week. CDC Extends Eviction Moratorium The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s eviction moratorium has been extended through June 30. Find out if you qualify here. If you qualify and need rental assistance, fill out the form and give it to your landlord. Tenants who fall behind in their rent and are concerned about eviction can also take advantage of MSHDA’s COVID Emergency Rental Assistance (CERA).
