Dear Friends and Neighbors,
My next virtual coffee hour will take place tomorrow, Saturday, June 27 at 10:30 a.m. Register here in advance if you would like to take part. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
After this Saturday, my office will be returning to our normal coffee hour schedule, but the events will still be taking place virtually.
The schedule is as follows:
- The first Saturday of each month.
- The third Monday of each month.
- Thursday evening happy hours every other month, with exact dates to be announced as they approach.
Supplemental Budget Passes
Recently, the House and Senate approved supplemental funding plans to help Michigan families, businesses and municipalities during the COVID-19 pandemic. Michiganders have been through so much during this crisis, and it is important that we continue to look for ways to uplift our communities. This critical appropriation will do just that, as it includes funding for rental assistance to help families avoid evictions, grants to help our small businesses stay on their feet as the economy recovers, and funding for our local governments and school systems. This has been an incredibly difficult period in time for everyone, but I have no doubt we will make it through together.
Auto-No Fault Changes
Michigan’s new auto-no fault law, which was passed last year, will go into effect on July 1. The law will now allow policy holders to choose from coverage levels that best fit their needs, bringing the possibility of extensive savings for many.
You can find more information about how this may impact you and your family by clicking here.
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to my office with any questions or concerns you may have.
Sincerely,
Kevin Hertel
