LANSING, Mich., July 14, 2021 — State Rep. Padma Kuppa (D-Troy) issued the following statement after Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed a budget for preK-12 schools that makes historic investments and closes the funding gap between districts:
“This budget is a sign of what we can accomplish when we put party politics aside and come together for the greater good of the people, especially our children. This is not only an investment in our schools but an investment in Michigan’s economic future. A strong, well-funded school system is the best way to ensure that Michigan’s economy is thriving for years to come.”
