LANSING — State Representative Winnie Brinks (D-Grand Rapids) is honored to receive one of two Legislator of the Year awards from the Michigan National Organization for Women. She shares the honor with her colleague Rep. Gretchen Driskell (D-Saline). The award will be presented at Michigan NOW’s annual state conference on Saturday, March 29.
“It is an honor to be named Legislator of the Year by NOW,” Brinks said. “I’ve fought hard to ensure Michigan women have access to health care and are armed with the information they need to fight breast cancer. The ability of women to access health care is directly tied to the ability of Michigan families to achieve economic security, and I’m thankful that NOW has recognized my efforts.”
The organization will hold its conference from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the University of Michigan-Dearborn campus, in Fairlane Center-North, 19000 Hubbard Drive in Dearborn.
