LANSING, Mich., Oct. 20, 2021 — State Rep. Angela Witwer (Delta Township) introduced a memorial resolution to honor the late state Rep. Ernest Nash (R-Dimondale). Nash served the 56th District as state representative from 1975-1986. Earlier this year, Nash passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 90 in his East Lansing home.
“Rep. Nash was truly an American hero,” Witwer said. “He lived his life in dedication to public service, first as a member of the Navy, then as a Michigan State Police officer, the state representative for Eaton County and as a Special Projects Officer in the George H.W. Bush administration. During his time in the House, he engaged deeply in committee work and collaborated with members on both sides of the aisle to get things done for the people of his district. We should all aspire to follow in his footsteps.”
