  • Phase 1A (health care workers & long-term care residents/staff);
  • Phase 1B (frontline first responders, teachers/school staff, and those aged 65+)
  • Caretakers/guardians of children with special health care needs
  • Anyone aged 50+
  • Anyone aged 16 to 49

To pre-register for a COVID-19 vaccination appointment:

  • Fill out the COVID Vaccine Pre-Registration survey
  • For those aged 50+: you may call a local senior center for help with pre-registration
  • For those aged 55+: The Valley Area Agency on Aging (810-600-0617) can help with pre-registration

If you pre-registered (online or via phone), you will receive a phone call or email when an appointment is available. If you pre-registered for your COVID- 19 vaccine with the GCHD but you have already received your COVID-19 vaccine elsewhere, please let them know by filling out this short survey, so they can remove you from the list.

I also encourage you to register with WalgreensRite-AidMeijerWalmart and other local pharmacies that offer the vaccine, to increase your chances of getting the vaccine early. These pharmacies receive vaccines on their own schedule and do not have to report them to the state. I will continue to work to ensure our area secures the necessary doses to keep our community safe and protected, and that every Genesee County resident who wants a COVID vaccine is able to get one.

National Work Zone Awareness Week – April 26-30

National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW) is an annual event that focuses national attention on worker and motorist safety in work zones. This year, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is hosting the 2021 NWZAW kick-off event on April 27 with the theme, “Drive Safe. Work Safe. Save Lives.” The themed poster below features a vehicle driving along a winding road surrounded by work zone technologies that make work zones safer for workers and motorists.

Drive Safe. A reminder that work zones need everyone’s undivided attention. When approaching a work zone, motorists should always slow down, follow all posted signs, be alert, and remain calm. Risky driving behavior affects more than just the driver – everyone’s lives and families are at stake.

Work Safe. Technology is helping to make work zones safer by collecting data and automating processes, which can remove workers from dangerous situations and provide motorists with important information. It is also a reminder that work zone safety begins with workers who are dedicated to safety.

Save Lives. If we ALL work together, we can achieve zero deaths on our roads and in our work zones!
