Hello Friends,
I, along with special guests state Rep. Julie M. Rogers (D-Kalamazoo) and state Sen. Sean McCann (D-Kalamazoo), will host a virtual town hall for residents of Kalamazoo County on Tuesday, July 27, from 6-7 p.m.
We will also be joined by special guest Attorney General Dana Nessel. The town hall will provide information on Michigan’s new law that expands eligibility to petition for an expungement in several ways and creates a new process that will automatically seal certain non-violent conviction records if a person has remained conviction-free for a period of time (seven years for misdemeanors, 10 years for felonies).
The town hall will “open” to the public at 5:50 p.m.
To attend the town hall, individuals should register by 4 p.m. on July 26. Individuals who register will receive a link to attend the town hall the evening of July 26. Kalamazoo County residents should use the following information to register for the virtual town hall.

Individuals may also register by phone through any of the three offices:
Rep. Morse: (517) 373-1774
Rep. Rogers: (517) 373-1785
Sen. McCann: (517) 373-5100
We will also be joined by John S. Pallas, First Assistant, Criminal Trials and Appeals Division, Department of the Michigan Attorney General; Jennifer Klempnow, Special Initiatives Manager, Michigan WORKS! Southwest; and Donna Innes, Chief Defender, Kalamazoo Defender.
A captioning service and ASL interpreter will be provided for the town hall.
Thank you, and I look forward to seeing you there!
Christine Morse
