LANSING — State Representative Charles Smiley (D-Burton) announced today his committee assignments for the 2013-14 legislative term. Smiley will serve on the Agriculture and Transportation and Infrastructure committees and will be the Democratic vice chairman of the Natural Resources Committee.
“I’m pleased to be involved in some of the most important issues facing my constituents,” Smiley said. “The governor has spoken extensively about road funding, and I will work to improve our infrastructure without putting a larger economic burden on middle-class families.”
Smiley is serving his second term representing the 50th District in the House of Representatives. He previously was the mayor of Burton for 19 years.
