LANSING, Mich., March 24, 2022 — The Michigan House of Representatives passed Senate Bill 565 today, putting billions of dollars to work in communities across the state. State Rep. Alex Garza (D-Taylor) voted in support of the bill, highlighting the $66 million investment in pump station generators. Garza issued the following statement:
“Thousands of people in Downriver and across Southeast Michigan watched as floods devastated our communities last summer. Our pumping stations failed us after decades of neglect. This bipartisan budget invests in our pumping stations and water infrastructure to start the work of ensuring flooding will never wreak havoc on our families again.”
