LANSING, Mich., March 24, 2022 — The Michigan House of Representatives passed Senate Bill 565 today, putting billions of dollars to work in communities across the state. State Rep. Cara Clemente (D-Lincoln Park), highlighting the $2.2 billion investment in water infrastructure, issued the following statement:
“Too many people in our Downriver communities have suffered from flooding in their basements and contaminants in their water due to outdated lead service lines. I’ve seen the devastating impact that pushing aside crucial funding can have in my own backyard. I was proud to vote yes on this budget to confront our aging infrastructure with real solutions.”
