• Last week the House Democrats introduced a resolution demanding a bipartisan investigation into the alleged ethical violations and financial web of former Speaker of the House Lee Chatfield. What has been alleged is an astounding disregard for the office he was afforded and the taxpayer dollars that fund our staff and activities. So far, the House of Representatives has taken zero action to answer even the most basic questions about what occurred in the Speaker’s office and we intend to get to the bottom of these allegations. We refuse to allow term limits to serve as a statute of limitations on allegations of such corruption. I hope to keep you updated on the progress of this investigation into what happened behind closed doors in your government, but for now our demand rests with the current Speaker of the House to decide if Michiganders deserve answers.
