LANSING, Mich., Sept. 28, 2022 — Muskegon Heights has been awarded a Drinking Water Infrastructure (DWI) Grant of over $1.2 million. The DWI Grant is available as part of the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy’s (EGLE) MI Clean Water Plan — a plan to invest $500 million into water infrastructure around the state. In response to the award announcement, state Rep. Terry Sabo (D-Muskegon) issued the following statement:
“Michiganders are unfortunately all too aware of the detrimental effects of poor water infrastructure, and that’s why it is crucial we make investments to protect water quality. This grant is going to go toward ensuring families in our community have clean drinking water. These are the kinds of projects we need to support in order to keep Michigan healthy and thriving.”
