LANSING, Mich, Dec. 16, 2022 — State Rep. Brenda Carter (D-Pontiac) received training from Fair Fight to help her continue to work to ensure  elections remain free and fair and accessible to all voters. House Democratic Leader Donna Lansinski (D-Chelsea) nominated Carter for this honor, along with state Reps. Amos O’Neal (D-Saginaw) and Kara Hope (D-Holt), who will also be graduating.

“I am honored to graduate from Fair Fight Action training,” Carter said. “Voter suppression, especially of Black and brown voters, is one of the greatest threats to our representative democracy. Without equal access to participate in elections, and without ensuring that elections are free and fair, our democracy would not function. I will use the tools from this training to continue to fight to ensure elections remain free and fair so that all voters have equal access to participate in elections. I will stand against voter suppression and intimidation in our community, our state and our nation.”

Fair Fight promotes fair elections around the country, encourages voter participation, and educates voters about elections and voting rights. Fair Fight Action makes the public aware of election reform, advocates for election reform at all levels, and engages in other voter education programs and communications.
