LANSING, Mich., Jan. 13, 2023 — Speaker Joe Tate (D-Detroit) announced yesterday the chairs and members of the Michigan House of Representatives standing committees and appropriations subcommittees. State Rep. Ranjeev Puri (D-Canton) was appointed chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation and member of the Subcommittees on General Government; Agriculture and Rural Development and Natural Resources; Joint Capital Outlay; and Labor and Economic Opportunity.

“Having served as a member of the House Transportation policy committee last term, I am excited to have been appointed to serve as the chair of the Transportation Appropriations Subcommittee for the 2023-24 session,” Puri said. “The opportunity to chair this committee will help us ensure our state has the resources necessary to make Michigan a leader on all things transportation, infrastructure and mobility.”

Puri has been a strong advocate for cultivating electric vehicle manufacturing jobs in Michigan. Last year, he supported funding for the Michigan Strategic Fund, which gave support for new transformational investment organizations.

“As chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, I will be able to support resources and funding that will allow for more electric vehicle manufacturing jobs to be brought to our state,” Puri said.
