LANSING, Mich., May 19, 2023 — The Consensus Revenue Estimating Conference took place today following the passage of both the House and Senate budgets. State Rep. Angela Witwer (Delta Township), chair of the House Appropriations Committee, issued the following statement on the House’s budget and the upcoming effort to finalize the state budget:

“We’ve delivered meaningful tax relief to our constituents and advanced a fiscally responsible budget plan that funds their priorities. Michiganders have more money in their pockets, and our local schools, roads and communities will have the funds they need. The news out of today’s revenue estimating conference tracks with our expectations for changes consistent with delivering tax relief and confirms that Michigan’s economy is healthy and stable. I look forward to our continued work on the budget as we meet with our colleagues in the Senate and the governor’s office to develop a sound plan that keeps our state on the right track.”
