Rep. Hope to Host Workers Rights Town Hall in September

I will host a Workers’ Rights Town Hall on Thursday, Sept. 7, from 6-8 p.m., at Alfreda Schmidt Community Center, 5825 Wise Road in Lansing. Grassroots activists from statewide organizations and labor will join me to discuss the labor legislation that the House has passed so far, as well as future legislation to help working people in our state.

State Receives $13 Million for Affordable Housing

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and the Michigan State Housing Development Authority recently announced more than $13 million in federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credits have been awarded for the rehabilitation or development of 500 homes across the state, including projects in Lansing. The Lansing Housing Commission and CCA Developer Two LLC will receive nearly $1.5 million for Riverview 220, creating 56 affordable housing units.

MI Ranks #1 for Automotive Industry and Electric Vehicle Investment 

A new report from Business Facilities lists Michigan as the top state for automotive industry and electric vehicle investment. Additionally, Michigan ranked among the top 10 states in other areas, including workforce training, health care jobs, foreign direct investment and tech talent pipelines.
