Meet with John:
Each month I hold regular coffee hours to engage in conversation and exchange ideas with you. This month, my coffee hour will be held on Saturday, Aug. 19, from 10-11 a.m. at Bagel Beanery, 5316 Clyde Park Ave. SW in Wyoming. I always appreciate and look forward to hearing from constituents. I hope to see you there to talk about the issues most important to you and our community.
I will continue to hold regular coffee hours at Wyoming City Hall from 10:30 a.m. to noon on the second and fourth Mondays of each month. Stop by to say hi, talk with me about an issue and get updates for our community from the Capitol. I look forward to seeing you!
I’m hosting a Financial Literacy Tour with special guest state Rep. Brenda Carter on Saturday, Aug. 19, from 1-3 p.m. at the Cook Library Center, 1100 Cesar E. Chavez Ave. SW in Grand Rapids. This event will provide you with resources and information around financial literacy and capability. This is a wonderful opportunity for those of you with questions about finances, affordability, and navigating our banks and credit unions. I hope to see you there!
Finally, I will be hosting a Senior Resource Fair at the Wyoming Senior Center on Monday, Sept. 25. There will be dozens of groups and organizations there to provide resources and information for seniors ranging from navigating our health care system to providing resources in retirement. I will be sharing updates on Facebook with more information on who will be there and what to expect in the coming weeks.
John’s Journal:
Last week, I hosted our Energy Reliability, Resilience and Accountability (ERRA) Task Force listening tour at the Grand Rapids Community College M-TEC Center and was joined by several of my House colleagues from around the state. I appreciated hearing from many of you about your energy concerns and will continue working with my fellow representatives on finding solutions to the many issues Michiganders face with energy reliability and affordability.
As we approach the end of summer, I am looking forward to the Legislature returning to session and continuing the important work of representing you in Lansing. Know that my team and I are always available to you. Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Respectfully,
John Fitzgerald
State Representative
