LANSING – State Representative Marcia Hovey-Wright (D-Muskegon) was recently named to the House Health Policy and Insurance committees for the 2011-2012 legislative session.
“The Legislature will certainly face many tough decisions on how to change and improve issues related to health care and insurance coverage,” Hovey-Wright said. “As a State Representative, it’s my job to make sure the best interests of our residents always come first. Whether it’s implementing new federal health care rules and regulations, or supporting programs like HIP Michigan, I will always consider how each decision I make affects our families here in Muskegon County.”
The HIP Michigan (Health Insurance Program for Michigan) is a new program that provides quality health care coverage at affordable rates to eligible Michigan citizens.
Hovey-Wright is serving her first term as State Representative for the 92nd House District. “I’m eager to take on my new roles on the Health Policy and Insurance committees and be the strong voice our families need on decisions that will impact their health care and make insurance more fair and affordable,” Hovey-Wright added.
