Michigan Firearm Safety and Violence Prevention Caucus on Nevada Shooting

LANSING, Mich., Dec. 6, 2023 — The University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus reported today that there was an active shooting at Frank and Estella Beam Hall which resulted in several victims. Further details on the incident are still being reported. The Michigan Firearm Safety and Violence Prevention Caucus issued the following statement in response to the reports: 

 

“This is a purely American problem. Our hearts go out to the families, friends and students whose lives have been shattered today. We must continue to advocate for more safety and violence prevention both here in our state and across the U.S. — changes must be made.”
