LANSING — Rep. Jeremy Moss (D-Southfield) has been named the Democratic Vice Chairman of the Michigan House of Representatives’ Local Government Committee. He was also placed on the House Commerce and Regulatory Reform committees.
“It’s an honor to be named a vice chairman of a committee in my first term in office,” Moss said. “As a former local government official, I know the important role the Local Government Committee plays to protect the quality of life for Michiganders. I will work hard to make sure that the proposals that emerge from this committee will equip counties, cities, villages and townships to better serve their residents.”
Before joining the Legislature, Rep. Moss served as the youngest-ever member of the Southfield City Council. He has also worked in public policy at the state and local levels.
“I’m also glad to be named to the Commerce and Regulatory Reform committees,” Moss said. “I look forward to working on policies that will help entrepreneurs create jobs, and to make sure that we have regulations in place that safeguard the public while promoting economic growth as well.”
