LANSING — State Representative Robert L. Kosowski (D-Westland) announced today that he is forming a new caucus aimed at improving the lives and well-being of Michigan citizens. The Health and Fitness Caucus will include both parties and both houses of the Legislature, as he is joined in the effort by state Rep. Klint Kesto (R-West Bloomfield) and state Sen. Steve Bieda (D-Warren). Kosowski will serve as chairman of the new caucus.
“As legislators, we should always be looking for ways to improve the communities and the people we represent,” Kosowski said. “Physical and mental well-being play a huge role in a person’s quality of life, and by working to improve those things, I believe we can make a big difference for the people of Michigan.”
Kosowski is no stranger to health and fitness initiatives. Before joining the Legislature, he was the director of the Westland Parks and Recreation Department. Kosowski also played college football.
