LANSING – State Representative Leslie Love (D-Detroit), along with Reps. Julie Plawecki (D-Dearborn Heights) and Christine Greig (D-Farmington Hills) collaborated a tour with the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute on March 1 to start Women’s History Month. Joining them were state Reps. Bill LaVoy (D-Monroe), Frank Liberati (D-Allen Park), Erika Geiss (D-Taylor), Alberta Tinsley-Talabi (D-Detroit), Stephanie Chang (D-Detroit) and Sherry Gay-Dagnogo (D-Detroit). Karmanos is the only hospital in Michigan solely dedicated to fighting cancer.
“On this, the first day of Women’s History Month, we recognize the legacy of Barbara Ann Karmanos,” Love said. “Her unyielding spirit lives on today, as thousands of other women have survived because of the research and treatment done in her name.”
