“Every voter deserves to have their ballot counted. Voters pick the winners of elections, not candidates or political parties. The count is ongoing and it’s important that we allow election administrators to do their work.
“It appears that Michigan will deliver its electoral votes to former Vice President Joe Biden and that voters have installed a democratic majority on the state supreme court; and in my home county, Oakland County Executive David Coulter — who is the first Democrat to be elected to this office — has been retained, alongside other countywide officials.
“This election cycle was challenging across the country for state legislative Democrats. Here in Michigan, we bucked the trend and retained our 52 House seats, despite confronting unprecedented special interest campaign spending and a Republican gerrymander of ‘historic proportions.’
“House Democrats will continue to champion people-centered policies and deliver real solutions and a stronger Michigan for everyone.”
