Statement from state Representatives John Chirkun (D-Roseville) and Frank Liberati (D-Allen Park) on their appointment to the select committee investigating wrongdoing in the House:

Chirkun: “The business of personal misconduct has affected the House of Representatives and our ability to legislate for nearly a month. I look forward to completing the task before this committee so we can put this issue to rest and return to doing the people’s work and finding a solution to fund our needed road repairs.”

Liberati: “Everyone is entitled to due process. Two of our colleagues face very serious allegations, and serving on this committee is a role I take very seriously. I will work with my fellow members to examine all the evidence and make an informed decision.”
