Working to build Michiganders up
LANSING, Mich., Jan. 8, 2025 — The Michigan House of Representatives kicked off the 103rd Legislative term today with new leadership. Michigan House Democrats are laser focused on continuing to advocate for the people of Michigan and make the state a better place to live, work, learn and thrive. In response to the first session day, Democratic Leader Ranjeev Puri (D-Canton) issued the following statement:
“As the new Democratic leader, there has been something very much at the center of mind for me — unity — as a state and as a caucus. I’m thrilled to stand with my fellow caucus members in building people up and bringing people together. We’re ready to work collaboratively to create solutions for everyday people — for the working class, for teachers, students, families, nurses, seniors, for all Michiganders to have more breathing room and find more peace of mind. I can say with certainty that my colleagues and I came to Lansing today eager to defend Democratic values and uplift all Michiganders. Let’s get to work!”
