LANSING, Mich., Jan. 31, 2025 — House committee assignments for Michigan’s 103rd Legislature were announced yesterday. State Rep. Julie M. Rogers (D-Kalamazoo) was named minority vice chair for the Appropriations subcommittees on Medicaid and Behavioral Health and Military and Veterans. She also was appointed to the Subcommittee on Higher Education and Community Colleges as well as to the full Appropriations Committee. Following the announcement of committee assignments, Rogers issued the following statement:
“I look forward to the opportunity to continue serving the people of Michigan through my leadership positions on these subcommittees. As a practicing physical therapist and the former chair of the House Health Policy Committee, I have a vast background in health care and have spearheaded many projects to support our veterans. Considering the recent events on the freezing of federal resources, including Medicaid funds, the appropriations process will be critical to continuing the delivery of health care to Michiganders, including our most vulnerable.”
