February Teacher of the Month- Jennifer Wood
Congratulations to our February Teacher of the Month winner, Jennifer Wood! Jennifer is an 8th grade science teacher at Charlotte Middle School.
To quote her nominator, “Mrs. Wood is a safe and fun educator who is attuned to her students’ needs both at school and in life. She runs student council as well and makes sure every student feels included and valued. She goes above and beyond to protect students from judgment from their peers when encountering obstacles they may have no control over. She is a gem and we are lucky to have her.”
Congratulations again on your award!

Committees
Last week, the Health Policy Committee met to vote on House Bill 4032 (Linting) that would eliminate the statutory sunset on Michigan’s participation in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact. We also heard presentations from the Michigan Health and Hospitals Association and PhRMA on the 340B program.
Session
Recently in session, we took up the following bills:
- House Bills 4052-4053 (Carra and Wegela): These bills would together prohibit a member of the legislature from entering into a nondisclosure agreement regarding any work done in that member’s legislative capacity.
- House Bills 4062-4064 (Tisdel, Martin and Neyer): These bills create a 2-year “cooling off” period for lobbying activities by state legislators, governors, Lt. governors and state principal department heads after their terms of service have concluded.
