LANSING — State Rep. Terry Sabo (D-Muskegon) has been appointed to serve on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, filling a vacancy left after former Rep. Brian Banks resigned from office earlier this month. This appointment marks the representative’s fourth committee assignment, in addition to his service on the House Local Government and Agriculture committees, as well as serving as the Democratic vice chairman for the Military and Veterans Affairs Committee. Rep. Sabo is one of only a handful of Democrats to serve on four committees.
“I am honored that House Speaker Tom Leonard and House Democratic Leader Sam Singh have entrusted me with this weighty task,” said Rep. Sabo. “I appreciate their confidence in my abilities, and I look forward to collaboration with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle in this new committee. Given the state of Michigan’s current infrastructure, I have no doubt this committee will be grappling with serious issues that impact our state, and I am grateful for the opportunity to participate in those conversations.”
