LANSING — The Michigan House of Representatives voted today to pass Senate Bills 242-244, legislation that provides incentives to businesses that create new jobs. In response, state Rep. Scott Dianda (D-Calumet) issued the following statement:
“I voted for the ‘Good Jobs’ bills because job creation is critically important for success in communities across Michigan, but especially in the U.P., where we are trying to create jobs with a livable wage so our young people can stay here. The U.P. is open for business, and this legislation will help us be more competitive when it comes to attracting businesses. I’m pleased to support these bills that will help us attract 21st century jobs to our communities.”
