Welcome to my first e-newsletter! Here you can find information about what I am working on at the state Capitol and events that are going on in our community.
Serving in the Legislature and representing you in Lansing are responsibilities that I take very seriously. Please feel free to reach out to my office if you need help with navigating state government agencies, or to share your thoughts on legislation or community issues. We will always do our best to answer your questions or help you contact people who can. Remember, I am here to work for you.
Swearing-In Ceremony
On Wednesday, Jan. 11, I participated in a ceremonial swearing-in where my 109 colleagues and I took the oath of office as state representatives. It was an honor to share that day with my family and officially begin the 99th Legislature. As your state representative now, I look forward to representing your interests and fighting to make sure Washtenaw County remains a great place to live, work and play.
Assistance with Energy Bills
As the winter continues, many of us find ourselves with higher energy bills than normal. Thankfully, there are resources to help lower-income customers better afford their bills and ensure that their power stays on.
Consumers Energy has instituted the CARE Program to help qualified customers better manage their monthly energy costs. An informational event will be held for residents to learn more about this program, its eligibility requirements and how to apply. The event will be held on Monday, Jan. 23, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Manchester Community Resource Center, 410 City Road in Manchester.
