LANSING — The Progressive Women’s Caucus and members of the House Democratic Caucus held a press call today to outline core principles that would address the problem of sexual assault on college campuses. In response, House Democratic Leader Sam Singh (D-East Lansing) issued the following statement:
“The time to take action on this issue is now. Our focus must be to prevent sexual assault, protect survivors, hold predators accountable for their actions, and institutions accountable for investigating and reporting allegations. The Progressive Women’s Caucus’ proposals directly address these much-needed changes. I urge my colleagues in the Legislature to join with us to pass these measures into law, because ending sexual assault on campus should never be a partisan issue, and protecting our young people should be something we can all support.”
