DETROIT — State Rep. Leslie Love (D-Detroit) announced today that she will again host a series of town hall meetings to discuss important issues with her constituents. The March 6 O’clock Series will feature 90-minute town hall meetings starting at 6 p.m. every Monday in March. The first event will take place Monday, March 6, at Greater Grace Temple, 23500 W. Seven Mile Road in Detroit, for a panel discussion involving women’s issues in the political process with her special guests, several women of the Detroit House Delegation, where eight of the 10 members are women.
“Women’s issues have moved to the forefront in the past year, yet women of color are still a minority in the political landscape,” Love said. “Women of color, in particular, those from urban areas, have a unique perspective on policy and what it means to serve.”
The rest of the March 6 O’clock series events are as follows, and all will be held at Greater Grace Temple:
- March 12: Foreclosure Prevention with special guest Wayne County Treasurer Eric Sabre
- March 19: Medicare and Medicaid: Expert panelists will break down the differences between these two popular programs
- March 26: Fitness and Self Defense: an interactive event focused on self-defense and mental health.
