LANSING — Yesterday, Republicans in the Michigan House of Representatives passed legislation that will take health care away from thousands of Michigan families and cut the pay of construction workers across the state. In response, House Democratic Floor Leader Christine Greig (D-Farmington Hills) issued the following statement:
“The ability to earn a good paycheck and to provide health care to your family are two cornerstones of financial stability. This week, Republicans in the state Legislature attacked them both. It’s inconceivable to me that Republicans in the state Capitol can pretend to be on the side of working families while they assail workers’ paychecks and the health care that guarantees that Michigan men, women and children can see a doctor when they need to. Michigan’s working people deserve leaders who are on their side — not politicians who attack their financial freedom at every turn. That’s why House Democrats are solidly in their corner and will fight to protect their health care and paychecks.”
