LANSING — Today, the House of Representatives approved the state budget for fiscal year 2018-19. State Rep. Tim Sneller (D-Burton) voted in favor of both budgets. In response, Rep. Sneller issued the following statement:

“The budgets we voted on today will send critical dollars into our communities to help them provide the programs and services we all rely on. While I am glad to see schools in Genesee County receiving an increase in per-pupil funding, we still have a long way to go before we reach adequate funding levels. I am also grateful that after continued pressure from me and my Democratic colleagues, we are increasing the amount of funding we send our local communities for our roads, though once again we are nowhere near the funding level our roads need to be fully fixed. These budgets are far from perfect; however, I cannot deny my communities these additional dollars, which is why I was able to support them today.”
