FLINT — This morning, nine people were injured by a truck when it crashed into them during a protest to raise the minimum wage. The state police has determined the crash was an accident. In response, state Rep. Sheldon Neeley (D-Flint) issued the following statement:

“My prayers go out to those injured in this morning’s tragic accident, along with their families and loved ones. Standing up and speaking out to demand a change is a fundamental aspect of our democracy, and I am proud to stand in support of those practicing their First Amendment right to protest. The reported accident this morning is a stark reminder that we must continue working together for the overall improvement of our community.”
