LANSING — State Rep. Cynthia A. Johnson (D-Detroit) was sworn in officially today as representative for the 5th House District for the 2019-2020 legislative session. The swearing-in ceremony marked the formal opening of Michigan’s 100th Legislature. In response, Rep. Johnson issued the following statement:
“As we begin this new year and new Legislature, it is crucial that we deliver on the promises and commitments made when we were chosen to represent our communities. The issues facing the people of our state are complex, and to solve them will require collaboration and an unrelenting devotion to the people who elected us to serve them. I am committed to unrigging the rules for working families, providing a quality education for our children, and reinvigorating the city of Detroit and all of Michigan.”
