LANSING — State Rep. Brenda Carter (D-Pontiac) was sworn in officially today as representative for the 29th House District for the 2019-2020 legislative session. The swearing-in ceremony marked the formal opening of Michigan’s 100th Legislature. In response, Rep. Carter issued the following statement:
“Before being elected to the Legislature education was one of my top priorities, and I look forward to continuing that fight for our students and teachers in the Capitol. Every child deserves access to a world-class education that prepares them for the jobs of tomorrow, and every hardworking Michigander should be able to receive the training they need for the job they want. As I am officially sworn into the House of Representatives, I will be working to make those rich and necessary educational opportunities a reality for every person across our great state.”
