LANSING — This evening, the Speaker of the House announced committee assignments for the 2019-20 legislative session. State Rep. Rebekah Warren (D-Ann Arbor) was named Democratic Vice Chair of the newly-created House Ways and Means Committee. This committee will play a vital role in the legislative process by reviewing bills a second time before reporting them to the floor for a full vote before the House. In response to her appointment, Rep. Warren issued the following statement:

“I am grateful to Speaker Chatfield for the honor of being able to serve as Democratic Vice Chair on this incredibly influential committee. Throughout my twelve years of experience in the state Legislature, I have been proud of my record of working with members from both sides of the aisle to get things done on the issues that matter most to the future of our state. I look forward to partnering with Chairman Iden to advance policies that will help make Michigan an extraordinary place for all of its citizens.”
