LANSING — Tonight, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer gave her first State of the State address, outlining her vision for the state and calling for bipartisan collaboration to address the issues that matter most to Michigan’s working families. In response, state Rep. Cara Clemente (D-Lincoln Park) issued the following statement:

“Gov. Whitmer laid out her plan to deliver Michigan the infrastructure, education, and economy we deserve. As an early supporter of the Governor, I was excited to see her hit the ground running as she renewed her commitment to fixing our roads, supporting our students, and protecting our water. Families across our community understand that infrastructure and education are two of the most critical issues that Michigan faces, and it is comforting that the Governor is ready to tackle both of them”
