LANSING — Tonight, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer delivered her first State of the State address, outlining her vision for the state and calling for bipartisan collaboration to address the issues facing Michigan’s working families. In response, state Rep. Kevin Coleman (D-Westland) issued the following statement:
“In her address this evening, Gov. Whitmer shared her priorities for the year and outlined a path to a more prosperous Michigan. The bipartisan solutions she called for reflect the concerns I hear from our community. That is how it should be; the priorities and visions of our elected officials should address the needs of the people. As Westland City Council President Pro Tem Herzberg and I learned serving on City Council, the most effective public service is founded on responding to actual needs of the community. I am pleased to see the Governor’s proposals are focused on results and a greater vision for our state.”
Rep. Coleman was joined by Peter Herzberg, Westland City Council President Pro Tem.
