LANSING — Tonight, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer delivered her first State of the State address, outlining her vision for the state and calling for bipartisan collaboration to address the issues facing Michigan’s working families. In response, state Rep. Brian K. Elder (D-Bay City) issued the following statement:
“In her first days in office, Gov. Whitmer has made it clear the time has come to get things done for the people of Michigan. I am grateful that she recognizes the need for every person to have the opportunity to earn a strong paycheck, and I am ready to get to work in the Legislature to support her vision for moving Michigan forward.”
Rep. Elder was joined by Erin Zettle, legislative advisor with the International United Auto Workers union.
