LANSING — Tonight, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer delivered her first State of the State address, outlining her vision for the state and calling for bipartisan collaboration to address the issues facing Michigan’s working families. In response, state Rep. Mari Manoogian (D-Birmingham) issued the following statement:
“Michiganders deserve a government that works hard to protect them and their families, and one of the most important ways to do that is through safeguarding our roads. While addressing our crumbling infrastructure is a huge piece of that puzzle, it also means ensuring that our families feel safe from all hazards while driving. That’s why I was appreciative of Gov. Whitmer’s endorsement for my hands-free driving legislation, and I look forward to partnering with her and my colleagues to tackle this critical issue and help create a safer, stronger Michigan for all.”
Rep. Manoogian was joined by local middle school student Liz Cron for the address.
