MUSKEGON — The Michigan Economic Development Corp. (MEDC) announced this week that the Michigan Strategic Fund (MSF) board has approved incentives to American Chemical Solutions LLC to aid in their formation, creating jobs in the greater Muskegon-area. The company has been awarded a $200,000 performance-based grant from the Michigan Business Development Program after their acquisition of three integrated batch chemical manufacturing facilities in the city of Muskegon. Without this grant, this project would be unable to move forward, and the facilities would be demolished. State Rep. Terry Sabo (D-Muskegon) welcomed the news and noted that the expansion is expected to result in a private investment of $15 million and create 38 new high-tech jobs.
“This is exciting news for our community,” Sabo said. “High-tech manufacturing jobs are the future of Muskegon and Michigan’s economy, and this grant will allow American Chemical Solutions to provide opportunities for many hardworking families in the area to earn a decent living.”
American Chemical Solutions LLC is a newly formed entity that plans to refurbish equipment, secure roads and replace infrastructure at the formerly idled facilities to produce specialty color form inks for use in heat or pressure-based printing applications.
