Legislator presents special tribute to celebrate the opening of the Kurt & Marge Soper Nature Center
DAVISON — State Rep. Sheryl Kennedy (D-Davison) presented a special tribute to celebrate the opening of the new Kurt & Marge Soper Nature Center during a meeting of the Davison Township Board of Trustees. The new addition to the Robert Williams Nature and Historical Learning Center will be used to expand opportunities for classes and nature programs.
“Pristine trails, seasonal events and educational programs have made the Robert Williams Nature & Historical Learning Center a point of local pride ever since it opened in 2014,” said Kennedy. “Built on fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for our environment, this new addition opens an exciting new chapter for the nature center. I’d like to extend my sincerest appreciation to both the Williams and Soper families for their generosity and tireless commitment to improving our community.”
Kurt Soper served as Davison Township Supervisor from 2000 to 2014, and was instrumental in the creation of the Davison Township Parks and Recreation Department. Soper was also involved in developing the Lake Callis Recreation Complex, Davison Dog Park and Black Creek Trail, as well as the renovation of the Kitchen School.
