“Every day that we wait to begin rebuilding our crumbling roads, bridges and infrastructure we put more of our community’s residents at risk while the long-term cost to our state continues to rise. The bonding proposal Gov. Whitmer unveiled last night and put into motion this morning will bring immediate relief to families right here in Calhoun County, with I-94, Helmer Road, I-69, and the “Penetrator” specifically targeted for construction. Our largest challenges must be met with bold solutions, and I support sensible solutions to get our state moving again.”
The Michigan Department of Transportation identified the following road projects in Calhoun County:
- I-69: I-94 to Eaton County Line
- I-194: I-194 over Kalamazoo River
- I-94: Helmer Road to 6 ½ Mile Road
- M-37: M-96 to northern city limits of Battle Creek
- I-94 EB: I-94 Eastbound over 6 ½ Mile Road
- I-94 EB: I-94 Eastbound over the Kalamazoo River
- I-94 WB: I-94 Westbound over 6 ½ Mile Road
