LANSING, Mich., Sept. 25, 2024 — The 2024 Michigan Climate Summit will be hosted by the Michigan Climate Action Network at University of Michigan’s School for Environment and Sustainability this week. In preparation for the event, Majority Floor Leader Abraham Aiyash (D-Detroit) issued the following statement:
“I am honored to speak at the fifth annual Michigan Climate Summit. This year’s theme — Climate Civics — perfectly encapsulates the mission to inform, inspire and uplift communities as we discuss the pressing challenges of climate change. With over 1,000 organizers and 50 climate-based organizations coming together, this summit represents a vital opportunity for dialogue and collaboration at the intersection of civic engagement, social justice and climate action.
“I am particularly excited to join thought leaders like Bill McKibben, Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, Regina Strong and Dan Utech as we explore innovative solutions and amplify the voices of those most affected by climate issues.”
