LANSING, Mich., Dec. 5, 2024 — Sixteen businesses in Michigan’s 38th House District have been awarded over $1 million in Going PRO Talent Fund grants to support workforce development efforts. These grants will enable local businesses to provide vital training opportunities to more than 600 workers, ensuring they are equipped with the skills needed to succeed in high-demand, high-wage careers.

“The Going PRO Talent Fund is a crucial investment in both our local businesses and the hardworking families of Southwest Michigan,” said state Rep. Joey Andrews (D-St. Joseph). “With support from this latest round of funding, local businesses will receive the resources they need to train their workforce, and local workers will gain access to new skills, leading to higher-wage careers. This funding is critical to growing Southwest Michigan’s economy and strengthening our workforce.”

The businesses receiving funding span several communities across the district, including Benton Harbor, St. Joseph, Stevensville, South Haven and Bridgman. Award recipients are Abonmarche Consultants Inc., Bronson South Haven, Colson Group — St. Joseph, Convergix Automation, Custom Tool and Die Company, Dura Mold Inc., Hanson International, Kay Manufacturing, Koehler Industries, McGuire’s Professional Construction, Primetals Technologies USA LLC, Ripple Effects Autism Learning Center, ROSTA USA Corp, Spencer Manufacturing Inc., The Inn at Harbor Shores and Youth Development Company/PAL.
