LANSING — A bipartisan group of legislators and members of the Rise, Inc. student organization held a press conference this morning to call for action on legislation that would ensure Michiganders have access to the affordable higher education they deserve. State Rep. Sarah Anthony (D-Lansing) attended to show her support and issued the following statement:
“I am so happy that the students from Rise were able to join us this morning. The stories they shared of overwhelming financial hardship and feeling helpless are all too common for Michiganders ready to pursue higher education. Everyone deserves the opportunity to get the life they want through college or skilled trades training, and no one should have to break the bank, or deal with insurmountable debt in order to do so.”
