LANSING — This week, Lansing Mayor Andy Schor and state Rep. Sarah Anthony (D-Lansing) recognized owners and operators of local McDonald’s restaurants for their commitment to hire over 240 employees throughout the Lansing community. McDonald’s employees are eligible to receive tuition reimbursement and access to additional professional development opportunities. In response, Rep. Anthony issued the following statement:
“Our economy is stronger when all workers are given access to the tools they need to succeed in every aspect of their life, not only on the job. The Archways to Opportunity program will provide exciting new opportunities for 240 new employees from the Lansing region, setting them up for a brighter economic future. I am hopeful that McDonald’s commitment to accessible, affordable postsecondary education will serve as an example to other Michigan businesses. Investing in workers is a direct investment in the economic success of our community.”
