LANSING – State Representative Winnie Brinks (D-Grand Rapids) today announced the official opening of her legislative office and named her two key staff positions. Brinks announced that Cecelia Smith and Vicki Baron will serve as her Legislative Assistants.

Cecelia Smith previously served in the same role in former State Representative Mark Meadows’ office and has four years of experience working within the Michigan House of Representatives. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Cecelia was born and raised in Grand Rapids. Her main focus in the office will be scheduling and constituent services.

Brinks announced that Vicki Baron will manage her legislative affairs and policy development as well as assist with constituent services. Baron most recently served as a lobbyist for the Michigan Credit Union League for three and half years and prior to that served for more than nine years in the Michigan House of Representatives, serving as Chief of Staff to State Representative Lee Gonzales, Legislative Assistant to State Representative Jack Minore and as Communications Coordinator for the House Democratic Caucus. Vicki holds a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Social Science with a concentration in Public Policy Studies from Michigan State University and a Master’s of Public Administration from Western Michigan University.
